April 9. The crop was affected in some trial areas, especially Marianna Hedgerow
on Green Bay Rd. and third leaf Rootstock Trial on Marine Ave. Nearly a total
loss of the prune crop occurred from frost. 1999 Crop Yields Total Almonds down 5%
from1998: Nonpareil up 9%, Carmel up 50%, Monterey and Neplus no
change. Butte, Ruby, Mission down 10%, and Padre down 40 %. Walnuts: Chandlers up 60%, Howards up 30% (Up 50% from 1998) |
